« on: August 26, 2013 - 10:36:23 AM »
Guys I need some help I am currently no where near my car but I am going to go look at a house that I am thinking about buying but I need to measure the garage door to make sure the Challenger fits.

The big questions is how fat is my 1974 challenger at its widest point..does anyone have this mesaurement? The internet is all over the place. Looking for something accurate.

I picked up an original specification sheet at a car show a week ago. It says 77.4" I suspect that's with only one side view mirror.

A modern garage door is 8 ft wide minus 3" per side for the jamb work. So you would normally have
a 7"6" opening. Plenty to work with.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

It doesn't matter how big  a garage is. In the end it's always six inches too small

I agree but i am looking at older homes and stuff is just never as it seems.

Saw a hosue that had a 70's corvette in the garage. It needed some help.
