I ended up getting 15x7 235/60 r15 and 15x8 275/60 r15 with Mickey Thompson rubber. Should look pretty sweet when they are on. Tried to post pics from my phone but didn't work. Will get them up on Flickr and share link. Body status is front clip all repaired, straight and welded. Floor in and finalizing fit. Trunk section finalizing fit. Wilwood front discs on order. Sms auto here in nh built me a manual transmission steering column and rebuilt my heater box and added a clutch pedal to my existing set up. More to come as I save up my allowance.
Thanks
Mike

You would have saved me a lot of money if you had bought it  ;)   It looked scary when it came back from blasting.

I'm finally at a computer so I'll see if I can get the picture thing working...

Here is the cross bracing added to the original bracing I created based on suggestions earlier in this thread.... You can also see how the hardtop AMD quarter panel was cut and modified to be used in a convertible application. Turns out the vert amd quarters are outsourced and grafted or modified to vert upper quarter sections in a similar way. They don't come as a clean stamp from AMD.

The other side...

All the repair work on the front end is mostly complete and welded. The rear is fitted and pinned but still mostly un welded. It still has a long way to go to get all the metal massaged perfectly but its coming along. Its looking like late spring now for a complete roller. But by then I'll have saved up more for interior pieces. Rebuilding the drive train is still a way's off though. Luckily I know a mechanic that has offered to help me when that day comes.

I definitely hear you on that one. I've been wrestling with that very issue since day one and will continue to do so until the project is done. I justify it to myself by keeping most of the mods 'bolt on' with the original parts all tucked away in my garage. If the car had been numbers matching, I most certainly would be doing it by the book stock.
Thanks
Mike

Great thread  :2thumbs: That's interesting to see about the amd vert panels as I may be crossing that same path in the near future on a 70 vert.  Crossing my fingers deal goes through

Sure. Next time I'm at the car I'll take more picks. You gotta recess the edge and fold a piece under where it meets the upper trunk.

Thanks that would be great since vert quarters are like triple the price of a hardtop quarter from Amd

Here's one more of mine. My body man cut it that way to save as much original as possible.
