I used the hardtop quarters too:

I didn't know that they are making vert quarters now. If they are that high, I'm glad I was able to make the hardtop ones work.

I don't believe they are making them. I think Ken Hopperdiesel is modifying hardtop quarter as he has tooling to do that.

Yeah. Someone is producing them as needed and amd just sends any vert quarter order on to him apparently. From the pics it looks like the original top edge of the quarters was saved. On mine we , and I use the term we loosly, used none of the original quarter. It would have been nice to do it your way though. No worries about the edge being dead on or having to redrill the trim screw holes and all that. I think time wise it probably took longer to do it this way as well. My quarters were such an awful mess though it would have been hard either way.

That's weird as I just checked AMD's site and they are no longer available.  They used to be listed at $1499.99 each  :banghead:

Pasir thanks for the pictures.  Any closeups showing exactly where your cut and how you grafted the new one in?  Did you butt weld or flange weld?

I need to ask my body man, I'm sure he has a bunch of pics. I have only these few pics, no closeups.

You had your chance. I wish I never sold it...

These things alway come for sale when I have no available funds, which is more often then not :banghead: Plus at the time I was really naive about the value of "real" BS27?1 cars.....they have really gone crazy, I may never get one. :crying:

Hi
I love the shakers like almost everyone else but as part of my internal struggle to keep things as original as possible I decided to keep with the raisin brand hood that it originally came with. From a design perspective I think they are still really cool, and the hood was in good shape. Its just a bummer plymouth didn't originally design the non shakers as ram air type  hoods. Anyway, aside from the larger wheels, I plan on the car looking factory stock from the exterior.

I keep telling myself some day maybe I can afford a shaker on a new challenger

Just checking in. Looking back it was about a year ago I said...
...Its looking like late spring now for a complete roller.
:roflsmiley:
So roll forward another year and this spring... yes, I have a good feeling that this spring will be the one to get the roller back. Anyway, its all been test fitted and final welded back together so its a solid, straight chassis again. The work is slow but it has been steady, and I'm not ready to bolt everything back on yet any way. Meanwhile, I've been restoring parts. Any one ever attempt to patch a speaker (or other large) hole and match the grain on the abs interior panels?

For plastic I've had good experience fixing cracks with a soldering iron and straightening warped tabs with a heat gun. I DID NOT have good luck with 'glazing' textured surfaces with a heat gun to restore the finish. To get it hot enough to bring back the dark plastic, you melt the surface slightly causing the sharp edges of the texture to round off making it look a little 'off'.

Thanks
Mike
