Where do you keep your Fender Tag?

Where do you keep your Fender Tag to your car?
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

I keep it on my fender unless it's about to get painted. Then it goes in the safe!

I'll put bolts on in place of the screws after it's painted, and I figure that should keep it pretty safe.

I swapped the screws on mine for torques security heads and leave it on the car...but there's not a lot of demand for 1974 challenger tags.

I always put the originals back on the car unless they are rusted and ugly in which case I get new copies made.
I guess if you're paranoid enough to worry about it, you could get a copy made and use that on the car... :dunno: or you could just sell all your projects to me :smilielol:

I have one on the hardtop and the convertible is here in my office in the desk drawer.  The only reason is as stated above, it is rusted and ugly and I need to get another one made.   :dunno:

Is there any way to legitimately re-construct a missing fender tag?  Mine rusted off years ago.  I'm the second owner and I'm 99% sure of all of the features/options that came with the car.

Too bad Chrysler didn't keep computerized records of the VIN and the corresponding fender tag (or maybe they did and the info is sitting on some old IBM 360 waiting to be powered up and retrieved!)

Do you have a broadcast sheet ? The build date and the VON are really the only info you would need.

Mine is gone and lost forever. It didnt come with my challenger when I got here and the interior was gutted of all except for the original dash, so no seats for broadcast sheet either.

I don`t have one for the Barracuda but I do have the broadcast sheet so maybe someday I`ll have one made. I do have one for the road runner and will probably screw it on the fender and maybe weld the screws from the back to keep it from disappearing.

My tag is on the fender.  It has never been removed.

Mine is on the car. I removed the tag from another Challenger I used to own and forgot to put it back on when I sold it. That tag might end up on the Dart just to mess with people. :roflsmiley:
