Where do you keep your Fender Tag?

coin rack is easy enough....well, then again so is a fender tag here in Korea...they can make anything LOLL

Mine is on the fender. I can;t see anyone trying to steal the fender tag from a base model challenger.

I do know people with more rare cars that have repo's made and put them on the car keeping the original ones for some kind of safe keeping

Some day somebody may want to steal the tag. Someday it may be worth that much. Doesn't matter, because I'll never sell it, and I'm almost indifferent to the tag and all it represents

Hey great poll! 

I own two cars and they both have their fender tags. My 71 Superbee was made in LA so I have no broadcast sheet, but my 70 Challenger has its fender tags that are off the car and in a safe place I also have the the original window sticker from the plant.

I found mine in the glove box it has so many coats of paint you can hardly read it. I have to strip and repaint than it will go back on fender.

So far, reading the reply's it seems the safest place for a fender tag is on the car.  Once they are separated there is a good chance they will never be reunited.  If left on the car there is a  very small chance one will be stolen but wool be very rare.

Now be kind.  Up until I bought my Challenger convertible a few years ago I was doing nothing but restoring first generation Camaros for 25 years.  I have cowl tags for 2 1969, Z/28's that are worth about $600.00 each.  They aren't VIN's they are the Cowl tag with no reference to a VIN.  I have those in my safe deposit box.  I'd like to sell them just too lazy to get them.

So, where do you keep your buildsheet?  Isn't that kinda like a fender tag and shouldn't it go back in the car too?  Much less likely someone would steal a buildsheet when it's behind the seat, but I'm guessing not many of us keep the buildsheet in the car.  Why not?  Why not at least a photo copy it?

In a folder with other important car documents. But to echo what others have said about the fender tag, it's unlikely in the foreseeable future that anybody is ever going to ask me to prove that my car came with a 318, a 904, 2.76 rear and weak-a$$ springs

When I bought my car, the fender tag was missing in action. I just figured it was taken off during the repaint and possibly lost. My car was originally a base Challenger with a 383, so nothing real rare there. I did have a fender tag made up though.

I keep my fender tag in a safe place off of the car.

I had a delima when I completed a FRAME OFF restoration (yes...frame off because the body was lifted OFF of the K FRAME) 

When I replaced the dash I naturally had to remove the dash placard and then pop rivet it onto the replacement dash.  That was 20 years ago and I see now that they have OEM style pop rivets...too late.

Also...the door jam decal I did not know what to do so I taped it up when the car was painted and now the original is still there.

I also for some reason have every registration certificate from the last 25 years?!?!?

Who cares...I am NEVER going to sell it anyway.

Mine is on the car. I removed the tag from another Challenger I used to own and forgot to put it back on when I sold it. That tag might end up on the Dart just to mess with people.

Now that's devious!
