Looking for a 1967 - 1969 Barracuda

My dad sold the only car I ever knew when I was 9.   I still miss it and have never loved another car since.  Now that I can afford to get something I WANT (not need), I'm looking to replace that 1969 Barracuda Fastback.  I'm not too picky, I know it's a 45 year old car, so anything 1967 - 1969 might do.  It needs to run good and be as reliable as possible.  I don't need a show car with matching numbers, but I do want something that looks good going down the road.  Looking to spend <$20K, but it all depends on the car.  Thanks guys, I miss my lil fishy!

I'm right between Oklahoma City, OK and Dallas, TX.  Ontario is a little far at the moment (hard to find someone to cover for me at work right now) but that car looks like it might be worth the trip if we can get away while he still has it.  We've already been to Chicago, St Louis and Houston looking at Barracudas.  Once we got there, Chicago told us it overheats when the temp gets above 90 - it rarely gets below 90 here during the daylight hours all summer.  Houston invited us to come drive it but it had no plates and just driving down the cul de sac the cops stopped us (no idea how fast we were going as the speedometer did not work).  St Louis was in pretty rough shape, we didn't even want to drive it.  I guess I shouldn't have assumed that a "daily driver" would be drivable when I went to look at it.  Now I know better of what to ask!

  just wanted to say in my opinion the 1969 is the best year of the 67-69 so that's what i'd stick to if I were buying. Good Luck

I have a lead on one for you that if you are not interested in , I may need to figure out how I am going to afford it. I will post some pics as soon as they are forwarded to me.
I saw the car 2weeks ago and if I had not purchased the 71' it would be in my garage right now.
The car has 45k original miles, shows its orignal paint in all the jams, under hood, trunk, etc. and has been painted on the outside only. The car is straight with beautiful paint and the interior looks like new, but is original.
The car has its orignal 273, with the cool little chrome air cleaner, coated headers and some other go fast goodies in it that I will get the particulars on. it does have an added tach and a b&m shifter on the floor (not cool imo) but doesn't wreck the cool feel this car has. It is super clean everywhere.... period. It is a medium blue with a black stripe, and dark blue interior.

If I wanted to get that body Barracuda, this one would flip the ticket.  I don't know what shape it's in and why it hasn't sold for a while but it does look decent and the price is nice.

Here is a 67' with only 40k original miles on it. Motor was pulled last year and new seals and gaskets were installed as well as a new cam, coated headers and a torque converter. The car shows all of its original paint in the jams, under hood & trunk, with the exterior only having 1 repaint about 15 years ago.. It is super clean throughout and the bottom of the car is just as clean. The interior is still all original and looks fantastic. There was a tach and B&M floor shifter installed (not cool imo) but does not take away from how clean & cool the car is. They have installed disc brakes in the front with large bolt pattern, and have rear axles as well, just have not changed them over yet. It includes both sets of rally's as well from what I have been told. The previous owner passed away and now the car is being offered for sale.
If you are interested, send me a PM and I can get more info. If I had not just bought the 71' this car would be in my garage already. Get in and drive it!

Thank you all for all the welcomes and ideas!   I've got some friends / family looking at a 69 fastback in Minnesota for me today.  It looks and sounds perfect online and over the phone, but is about twice what I really wanted to spend...

Super Blue72 - That sure looks like something I could love, but we can't get out to the east coast until the first weekend in October.  If it's still there, we will make sure to check it out.

Moparrecyclers - I was looking for a fastback, but that sure is nice.  Where is it located?

Wow! That is nice! Like Fishy I prefer the fastback but this is as nice a looking notchback as I have seen. I assume Fishy is going to pass since he has his mind set on a fastback. If he does, send me the details 'Cycler as I may be interested if the price is right. Thanks!

Fishy, have you tried calling the seller?  Just curious why it hasn't sold.  It's been on CL a while.  Might still be there in October if it hasn't sold in the summer.  I think it was like $10k at one point.

Central Wisconsin?  My parents still live in Ripon and we were just there last month after looking at a car in Chicago (which my mom said was "wrong" because it was a 67 not a 69).  Might be about 24 hours late though...

I think I may have just bought a 1969 Barracuda Formula 340S Fastback.  Totally restored.  Looks, Drives, Sounds, Smells like new.  Show car. 

But I have not seen it yet!!!    Gotta figure out how to get it to southern Oklahoma from Minneapolis.  I think I'm either dreaming or in shock, this is SO much more than I was planning on getting.
