Welcome to the board, looks like you will fit in here perfectly. I love your dads car, can you give us details on it? Nice job on the engine....its very orange. I hope you enjoy everything this board has to offer, it is one of the best and my favorite mopar board.

Lemme know if ya wanna see more pix... or other info...
You dont even have to ask that question around here......the more pictures, the better. I would like to pictures of all those mopars lined up, especially those barracudas.

Oh yeah!!! You're going to fit in just fine around here!  There's quite a few A-body folks here with some really cool cars.  I'm working on a 70 chally myself and hope to have the engine start up within the next month for the first time in 5 years.

Glad your here.  And if you have more pics...heck yeah, we want to see them!

THanks  Dads car... bought in early 1970, along with my unclle both bought 70 challengers... how cool is that... his was a plum crazy r/t and dads is a challenger, BUT he special ordered it, with all the right stuff, including -
383 magnum 335 horse
4 speed
3.23 limited slip
tinted glass
vynil top of course
H/D suspension

and no other options.. no power anything...

it currently has 112,000 miles on it and we just pulled the motor, it had been smoking the last few years, and neede all new valve guides, and 2 new exh valves.

I was brought home in this car and went camping and any other family vacation in this car, this is from 1970 something somewhere on skyline drive...

Here's the only pic i could find right now of the other challenger...

Daddy - o  is not easy on the car at all... the drivers seat is cocked back from slamming into second and fourth...all those years.. I know thats where I got the bug from...

We just got done rebuidingthe 383, and right now the 4 speed is getting new bearings, and syncros..
the 383 mag was supposed to be 10-1 motor in 70... we cc'd the heads ( one head was avg 2 cc's smaller then the other) and with compression height and a steel shim gasket we came up with 8.4-1 WOW ! upon further inspection the deck was .015 taller on one side then the other ( I hope the small head was on the taller side?!?!) so upon total rebuild we got 9.4-1 with keith black domed pistons...

He changed the oil every 3000 miles since new and boy it showed...
here we are just about to putt the motor..

tearin the motor apart.. no sludge here...

timing chain after too many miles and too much abuse..

main bearing - the crank just needed polishing - thats pretty good for a 112,000 miles and hard ones at that!

anyway here is a quick vid of my car last month just after  my header install...

Welcome aboard DJV!!! Looks like you (and Dad) have some cool Mopars  I too have fond memories of my Challenger, it's been in the family since new, but I'm having to do a lot more work than yours to get it back into shape. :banghead:

Drop us some more pics of the cars...
