70 cuda' 383 4 Speed Project

I am selling off a 70 cuda' (BS23N0B) 383 4 Speed FK5 exterior H6X9 interior project car.

This is a very unique car, from the factory with the 4 Speed,  A/C, manual steering and brakes, console, 8track 3speaker dash, and rally gauges. This car is complete but currently i am putting a 383 in to drive the car. Brake system is already done.

The dash matches the body, fendertag, and buildsheet. The trans matches, however the motor does not.

Original Paint, never wrecked.

This car will need your typical rust repair but is really not in terible shape.

Yes, this is a cuda' with the BS23N0B VIN not a Barracuda

I will grab some more pics in the morning, but that being said, the hood is off and the motor is out for a freshenin so you will see if in a not so complete stage, but i have everything for it.


I forgot to say the windshield is cracked and the passenger side regulator is messed up (there is another one included),

Here is a few more pics. As i said before i pulled the motor to inspect and get running. I do have the motor and four speed stuff to make drive and will be reinstalling them shortly.

Correct me if I am wrong but it looks like it needs:

Floor pans
Trunk pan
Trunk lid
Quarters (man that is alot of bondo)
Probably Wheel houses
Rear Valance
Gas Tank

My big question is how is the frame rails and undercarriage? The other question I have is was the original motor pulled because it had catastrophic failure or someone pulled it to put another motor in it. Most likely a 440.

Unfortunately I have found out the hard way how painful the rails can be.

Your concern is everyones when buying a car, so i will be as upfront and honest with you as i can. So that being said a lot of what you have is correct  if you dont  want to do some minor patching of metal. The front floor section will need replaced. However the three rear fllor pans are good. The trunk has two holes on both sides of the tank(3"x3") that could be patched. The  rails of the car will need minor attention (not replaced by any means.  Work will be required on the drivers front and rear, but that being said its nothing terrible. The cars been stored for 25 years inside, not out.I would say if your seriously interested in the vehicle call me and i will walk around the car and explain everything to you.

What i have the car priced at is what i think is a fair price for a very rare  project. People pay good money  for 318 rollers. This has the docs, and will be running and driving driving once i get the motor back in. The car is complete in every sense and would be a good resto for anyone. My price is obo as well. I dont see why  its not worth what i am asking????

Thanks for answering my questions.

Since I have gone through the painstaking process of replacing a TON of metal on my current Cuda project I think I am well versed in how much it will cost in the end. The way I would like to have the car come out I would replace alot of metal instead of trying to patch it but hey that's just me. Couple the fact that a high starting price will put you into this car well above what it's worth in the end which I believe is what dutch is pointing out. Sure folks can ask for whatever they want (318 roller) but it doesn't mean they get it. I hope you sell this car and get the money you want but I believe it will take quite awhile at this price as my offer would be well below where you are now.

Even though I have been looking for a Cuda - 383 4 speed car for awhile I have learned to be patient as it's really a waiting game.

Asking price of 15K is accurate in my opinion. I'm sure negotiations will take place to a serious buyer..  You can't by a hunk of metal that used to be a 70 cuda for less than 8K an this one is pretty complete.

I was just wondering....I found a 1970 Cuda that I'm looking to buy with the same VIN as this car meanning BS23NOB. The 383 was replaced with a 440-6. There was talk from the owner that this motor was a swap from the dealership. I'm not sure how true that is. Everything on the 440 looks to be original. Air Cleaner, carbs and so forth. Car starts right up.  The owner is in his 70s. The stripes on the Quarters say 440. The car has been sitting in his shed for 25 years. He states that The motor has no more than 3,000 miles on it. The car is in awesome shape. No rips in the seats, No cracks in the dash. Just has a faded carpet and possibly needs a healiner. The only rust on the car is a little in the lower Quarters.  I had three questions . My first question is did they not make many of these with a four speeds?  My second question is If I was to buy this car would it be suggested to leave the 440-6 in it or Try to find a numbers matching 383? Keep in mind that I am not looking to sell this car. My third question is what is a good offer to make for this car? Keep in mind that the owner does not know what it's worth.....He's waiting for me to make him an offer. I'm a Challenger Guy & do not know the specifics of Cudas. But would love to have a second Ebody  :ylsuper: Any suggestions would be appreciated.

A dealership engine swap means nothing IMO even if it`s documented. Make sure the body numbers, door sticker and fender tag match the vin tag as the tag or dash may have been swapped. Figure on replacing at least at least lower quarters, trunk floor and extensions. Car is probably in the same $10-15k range as this one.
