wiper blade refill source
« on: September 09, 2013 - 12:13:28 PM »
Hello All,
Where is a reliable source for wiper blade refills in both 15" and 16"...

I have googled 16" and have gotten some ANCO and Trico hits, but there are a wide selection of possibilities... Anyone recently purchased any refills and have the part number?

Cheers,

If you're just looking for a dull silver metal blade like the originals, then NAPA has a line of "Classic" blades, that's all I've been using lately since the price of the correct Trico turtle backs has gone crazy. :2cents:

Hey Alan...

I went ahead and used the "wrong" blades YearOne sent Hoss. Since they were 16", I just replaced the actual rubber insert. Now, if you could, please, I need the proper routing for the hose and then a shot of the underside of the hood where the hardware is all located. I googled some pictures, but not totally clear. Both parts of the FSM for '71 don't mention the wiper system, which I find weird..... Maybe I missed it.....

Thanks...

Troy

I'll take a look through the photos I have on my computer, otherwise I would need to get the car out of storage to get the pictures you require.

I see there are two spades on the washer motor. Where does the ground go to and which spade?

Thanks in a multitude of levels...........

I know that goober !!!  ... I'm taking about the OTHER end of the negative wire. As with the '68-'70 B's, the ground wire went from the motor ground to one of the washer bottle attach screws... I'm asking where, on an E-body with electric motor ( yes, some E's came with manual pumps === surprised I knew that? ).....

Hoss, my friend who owns the Challenger went out and bought was YearOne considers the replacement, but it was the complete wiper blade assembly, albeit it was WRONG !!!!!  <<< Blade holder that is, it fit a '70 and earlier arm... So much for Quality Control. But, I went ahead and removed the actual blade and swapped them out with the old torn up ones he had on the car. Worked perfectly.....

Wow, and that's exactly where I put it last night.... Sweet !!!! Wish I could get the factory terminal end though ( unless someone reproduces the ground strap/wire )......  It works for now..

I found a couple of vintage anco 16" turtle back refills on ebay for $20.00. I'm hoping they fit. I have a 74 challenger with the stock wiper set up. Havent received them yet so I am crossing my fingers.
