Got snow yet? 2013
« on: September 09, 2013 - 09:44:46 PM »
I saw the 2012 post being active so I thought what the heck? We need a 2013 thread.

No snow in Oklahoma as of yet (95 degrees today  :swear:) but I did clean up my snow shovel today.
Wiped the dust off and all.

Love to break out my 4X4 Dodge Ram in heavy snow though.  :2thumbs:

Pikes Peak had dustings of snow a couple times in August and a couple times so far in September. Our current cool weather has produced a decent layer of it on the summit today and accumulations as low as 9000-8500'.

If the last months cool and wet weather is any indication, we're in for a snowy winter.  If you figure it takes 10"  of snow to equal 1" of rainfall, Boulder would have had 12' of snow the last two weeks and here in Colorado Springs we would have had 6' worth.

Can we say La Nina ,it looks to be a snowy winter ,a few inches on the high passes today , so get ready

I live in Clovis, NM and we get the occasional "hard" storm. Since I'm originally from Ohio, a few inches of snow is no big deal to me, but Clovis doesn't have plows. That means a few inches snarls everything for at least a day, if not two. We got a good chunk of that rain they got in Colorado so the snow equivalent would be a little over 3'. This place would grind to a halt for a month!!

I am a wee bit south of you in Cambridge Ontario...we are having the nicest week of summer yet...little chilly at night, but great for sleeping.

I get the sense itis going to be a bad winter.

With all due apologies to Brad, I have NOT worked on my blower and, as such, will have to take the blame for a good old Great Frozen North winter in all likelihood. Truth be told, I don't know if it's a Canadian thing or just a personal sickness, but if I don't have to travel the highways, I LOVE a big-a$$ snowstorm. There, I said it.

I love big snowstorms. I find it brings out the community, help others dig out and have some brews afterwards.

The colder it gets here the less the challenger feels like starting
