!8 Spline TO Bearing
« on: September 11, 2013 - 01:41:49 PM »
Anyone know what the / a bearing number is for the 18 spline throwout bearing is for the actual bearing only not the entire TO assembly. Going to install my A855 Passon unit - yes I got it - as soon as I can locate this part.

Got one folks at the local parts store bearing only $34CDN. I would suppose that NAPA or similar have the same part for the benefit of my US and East Canada fellow listers.

Yes they are starting to come out.  Lets hope Jamie can keep up the production......I am way down on the list, and I was told it would be about six months before I can get one, once they started delivery.

Sounds like he can only assemble around 10 or so per week?
He'll get back logged on orders quick if that's the case.

I've never seen him post here.
Such a huge database he could tap into here.

E body owners probably spend on average the most on any 70's Mopar musclecar restorations.

I will post pictures when I get back next weekend to my home. The gearbox is in. Clearances are like stock and you get a new speedo cable that comes out towards the right side and curls beneath the tranny then follows the stock route back to the guage cluster. Not much to say if one has installed a hemi A833 then this is the same. It literally fell in and I emailed Jaimie and told him if the car had been standing on its nose then gravity would have installed it. I went easy and gently pulled the tranny in a little at a time by turning one of the four mounting bolts then moving to the next. Right now Jaimie has not caught up with the shifter rods so I wait for them and the shifter before I can drive it. I did start it up and this thing is smoother than you can imagine while running in neutral. Absolutely no vibration or grinding or rattling. I cannot wait to run this thing. I would highly recommend that anyone that gets this unit finds a hoist and tranny jack to install it. It is worth a lot of money and makes the install so much more comforting and easy doing it that way.
More later.

So I get an update:
"Here are the pictures. Last one of installed unit will hve to come later. Will
have to take as low resolution as I cannot get it below 310kb"

But don't see it. Did you delete your post?

I think that I can modify a stock shifter to work with that but the plates they give you to mount the shift rods to the shift forks have too much distance between the holes, to keep the shifter from hitting the stops before being all the way in gear.

Is the supplied shifter stock looking?
