Cloning a -71Challenger into a -70, technical questions

Hello fellow members.
I am contemplating on restoring my (wifes) -71 Challenger.
...sort of have to in order to match the look and finnish of of the trailer...

As my front fenders were sandblasted a bit too much back in the late 90's, I'm considering replacing them.
Now, looking at Rosevillemoparts.com, they list both -70, and -71 front fenders.
What is the difference between these two ? Which should I choose and why?

More questions will follow, but thats all for now....

Yes there are some subtle differences between 70 & 71 fenders but they will function 100% the same.
I very surprised that there are two different ones available, I've never heard of that. I could only find 70's listed on Roseville's site  :dunno:

Yes there are some subtle differences between 70 & 71 fenders but they will function 100% the same.
I very surprised that there are two different ones available, I've never heard of that. I could only find 70's listed on Roseville's site  :dunno:

only real difference is the notch in the front, Alan good to know I will have to check my listings, may have dropped off, but AMD has both 70 and 71, Goodmark and Dynacorn have one year as well

Oops my fault Dave..I found them listed with the 71 Cuda fenders...I actually stop scrolling once I got to the 70 Challenger fenders....
My bad.....I was unaware they offered both...Cool :thumbsup:

Aftermarked seat belts technical questions

Gentlemen.
I would like to install rear seatbelts in my convertible...
Has anybody done an aftermarked installation of seatbelts ?
Preferably the  3 point roll in type ?
I know,...I can find belts at the car dismantlers,...I'm looking for examples of installation..so I can do some planning.
At the moment, I'm using a child seat, attached using the original 2 point seatbelts + load staps running all the way from top of the child seat to inside of the trunk.
Maybe a 4 point race style belt can be a solution also ??...but those will not tuck away so nicely.....
All inputs welcome.

I was watching a tv show once, where they were showing a '69 Camaro Pace Car with the rare shoulder belt option for the driver and passenger. The belt came out between the rear quarter and rear seat top, coming right through the rear inner panel. It just pointed up towards the driver's shoulder then hooked to the right waist-belt area. It is something I want to look into installing for when I drive my convertible.
Having to deal with my grandson's car seat lately, I understand that the top of the seat has to be secured at the top to limit fore and aft movement. The hardtops had a shoulder option that bolted to the rear speaker shelf. Since we are dealing with a convertible I would bolt a strap right to the cross member that hooks the top of the seat and holds the top pump.

just SOO EASY to be carried away, and order tons of parts...

The restoration is in progress....rust has been found.. :22yikes: :22yikes: :22yikes:

Showing rust under front fender, close to windshield,...and after removing door...

I know how much I like pictures and good music.

The planned mods for the car is;
R/T hood, with chromed inserts
-70 all polished grille.
-70 tail-lights with chrome painted or chrome foiled tail panel.
-Custom leather coated door panels.
-Remove the tacky seat-covers = showing the nice deluxe white seats.
-make 3 point seatbelts in the rear seats for my son.

Future dreams might include;
All polished compressor, and thru the hood air filter.
Marsh serpentine belts.
GV-OverDrive (Which I used to have, but is now installed on my Cuda)
Custom starsNstripes paint job

I've cloned my 72 Ralley Challenger into the 70 T/A this is now... did it back in 1977-78.

The trailer is awesome (just watched your video).... its something i'd like to do ((I recently sold my fullsize trailer and Suburban tow vehicle).    any other details you could show on the way you made and attached the rear hitch?
Autocross/road racers go in deeper... and come out harder!

Sorry for my late reply.... been busy..
This is the look I'm after !!!
My plan is to use chromed foil at the rear (As I don't have a panel)
I'm considering keeping the inner grille mesh colored black...hmmmm

QUESTIONS (Anyone please feel free to give suggestions);
1) Dave at Roseville can only supply original = black bezels.
I assume that to remove the black paint, you will ruin the anodizing??
How can I overcome this problem ? Clear coat after polishing ??

2) Has anyone seen a Challenger with Cuda chin-spoilers installed?
Will they fit ? and will they look good?

Please, can anyone guide me in the right direction;
I'm looking for good illustrations showing what are the original holes in a Challenger engine bay.
Reason for asking, is that there is a lot of what I belive are un-original holes on inner fenders and firewall on my car.
I want to weld these holes shut,...without shutting holes that are "needed" ...

My electrical system has been tempered with quite a lot, relays added here and there....no starter relay, etc...
