THANKS A LOT ShelbyDogg !!
Spent yesterday evening installing a solenoid opener for the trunk....
The back up light housing uses almost all available space.... Hmmmm...

Question;
The gap shown on enclosed picture..... Is this ugly gap showing on all -70 models?
I used a wire brush for cleaning the housing...guess I can paint the edge black...
Pics anyone ???

My 70, built 10-1969.

Yes, there is a gap there.

Power lock release from a late model Dodge, hooked to CH2 on my alarm system.

Circuit breakers.
Some are available with long legs that are cut off to fit the fuse box.

Thanks again ShelbyDogg !!!!!
I am surprised I've never noticed this "defect" around the tail lights....

ANYONE;
SUGGESTION ON HOW TO MAKE THIS AREA LOOK BETTER IS WELCOME !!
.... other than painting the area black....

Time delay relay....are those available ? Cost ?

Grrrrr !!! %&%&%//&/!!!
I never knew there was bolt on trunk openers available.
Look at all the hassle I went through......using an off shelf solenoid from the -80's
A LOT OF THINKERING....
And I ended up with a triangular wire mechanism... no pics of that..
But it works !!!!

These are in junk yards and on Ebay all of the time.  As you found out, our lock cylinders do not like to rotate without the key inserted into the tumblers. Use a clamping diode across your solenoid if it is the big coil type.

.....rear marker lights pull out from inside trunk. Front marker lights do not pull out from the inside and the lens has to be pulled off.
  Well, I have new aftermarked rear lights,..... and I've used all the force I dare using.... rear light will NOT pull from inside....

Can someone please post a picture showing where the wire for rear reg plate lights goes from trunk to outside ?

NOIZE REDUCTION;
I’m thinking of making a “curtain” of noise insulating material from drip rail inside trunk (convertible) down to the trunk floor….This to reduce exhaust noise…
Any thoughts anyone ?
Regarding Dynamat,… should you cover everywhere,..or use the “knock test” and add Dynamat on selected panels and part of panels ?
Has anyone sprayed or glued anything on inside of top canvas in an effort to reduce wind noise ?

Ideas welcome….

Since we have a luggage rack I decided to make a "lid upper position stopper"..... an easy 30 min job....
uses the existing torsion bar,... which now needs to overcome the steel hump installed... works really well....

Found enogh space under the dash to install a sub w/buildt in amplifier... makes the bass sound "richer"...

So, I’ve installed a black carpet from Year One.....
Can you get the small mats and trunk mats in same material anywhere ?

Hi.
I'm in the process of installing the center console.
If I remember correctly, was there a spring between a bracket on top of cardan-tunnel and gear shift linkage.
(I can't find this spring.....at present.....)
PLEASE can someone explain the function of this spring? Do I need it???
.... and maybe post a picture or make an illustration showing how this spring mechanism is supposed to look ??

Hmmm... not much help here lately.....
Will running open scoops on a R/T hood cause moist problems when driving in rainy conditions?
..... the advantage leaving them open is better ventilation ......

Just looked through your thread for the first time & thought I'd give some input on the convertible top drains.... I suggest modifying them... First off the existing drain channel use some heavy gauge heat shrink tubing    http://www.mcmaster.com/#7270k5/=y2h4bj    to attach 5/8" drip irrigation line... The heat shrink I linked slips over 2" OD tube which is over kill but it has a 3-1 shrink ratio so it'll bond well to the 5/8" tubing... Personally I route the hose inside the car where it's hidden by the rear interior panel then drill through the floor letting the tube drain under the car...

Thanks for sharing, ...SMART SOLUTION !!!
I'm somewhat concerned that strong soap used on the soft top will detoriorate the rust protection "inside" the car,.... therefore your solution is something I'll consider !!!
