Especially the volt regulator and ballast resistor holes were useful pieces of information.

Time for an update?
There is steady progress...
Close to 7k USD worth of parts soon crossing the Atlantic...
I'm now playing with ideas for custom leather doorsides, and STARS AND STRIPES paint job.
I sure could use some ideas. ANYONE?

Being in the States, I would say no to the stars and stripes paint job. Maybe some race cars in the '70s had that look but you do what you want because it is your car. Are you that proud of owning an American car? All the true car guys know right away where that car is from.

Cloning a -71Challenger into a -70, some pics

Stedy progress on my project.
Had an "All inclusive weekend" at my restorer's garage last weekend.....
This include wrenching, mopar talk, good food, and late night drinking....PERFECT !!
Engine bay is complete.
We've done an upgrade to the rag top drain system, so that I now can park with the car facing uphill.

Can anyone remember if the soft top draining system has been discussed earlier?
...I'm interested in drainage path from the lower quarter (behind the doors).
One side is barely seeping out water, when testing by filling the "cavity beside the rear seat" with water...sorry for my poor vocabulary w.r.t. body parts..

On E-body verts, there is a u-shaped channel that runs around the base of the top from quarter window to quarter window.  The ends of the channel are open.  Water simply drains out the open channel ends, into the inside of the quarter panel, and then out drains in the rocker pinch weld area.

Been a while since my last post......

Has anyone information related to the drainage in the " rocker pinch weld area"  ????
I get wet carpets near the rear seats when washing the car due to drainage problems...
I need to make rust repairs to the rocker panel... so I will cut open....
Anyone having pics of the inside of rocker showing what path the water shall take ??

When I had my vert open I noticed that the drain holes in the bottom of the quarter were small and could get clogged up easely. I opened the holes up and blew high pressure air up through there and blew all the debris out. Might be why your getting wet carpets.

Me too. My floor behind the passenger front seat would get wet when it rained. I took off the rear panel to see inside the right rear window area. I closed the convertible top, then used a hose to wet the car. The right rear window area filled with water then started to flow into the car.

When I welded in my new quarter panels, I left some big drain holes at the bottom. The sheet metal next to the rocker was too close and sealed up to let the water out. I cut a large drain hole on the outer side to let the water flow out.

When time permits, I'll make sure my 'Cuda does NOT develop similar rust issues ...

Hello again.
The car is comming together nicely ..... will get a paintjob done during November...
Same non original blue color that I fell in love with when I purchased this car back in -93.

The wipers need som TLC.
Both pivots and bushings are rather worn (Variable speed wipers, bronze bushings)
Does anyone know who can help me with this ?
Jules the Wiper Man..... passed away a year ago.... moderators can you update his profile ???
Not much info on wipers on this site since then....
Suggestions anyone ????

Gentlemen.
There is only one single torsion spring on my trunk lid... believe this is original on -71 ?
I'm not happy,.... as this means "twisting" of the lid.....

What can I do ?
Gas-springs?
Does anyone sell double springs?

My 71 convertible also has the single torsion spring. I was unable to install it since the weld at the top of the support had broken loose and I did not discover this till after the car was painted. I have (2) 12" gas struts I am going to install also.
