Yep I had a screwdriver didn`t turn over just sparked.

I used to know how to do this on a 67 Cougar back in the day but I forgot how to do it, the NSS was bad on that car too. I think I also had to run a wire from the solenoid to the + side of the coil to keep it running does that sound right? I wont do all that now I`ll just replace the bad part when I figure out what is bad.
That would be correct. But, it seems you have established the problem is at the starter so it is not needed now
Hit the starter with a hammer a couple of times and see if it cranks
Sometimes this works but is not a fix. I think Chryco is right about what is probably wrong
