I was already driving the Newport since 1970 when I bought it from my dad in 1974 to use as my daily driver so I could store my Cuda for the michigan winters.

Brand spanking new - 1965 Chrysler Newport  383 2bbl

And this was the car that the Newport replaced...1959 Edsel


This is me at the sleeping bear sand dunes...July 1970.   I had my driving permit so I was driving the 383.

Those pics are awesome.  My parents had a 1967 (?)Dodge Monaco Station Wagon back in the day that I remember. We used to sit on the tailgate going back to the house from the beach.  It was like a 2 mile ride or so. I don't think that would fly these days.

Cool pix.  Most cars had 3 windows per side (wing/vent, front, back) but can't remember many with 4 side windows like your 65 Newport.
