priming oil pump

When priming the oil pump on the 440. I have the resistance on the drill I think is proper. How do I know when it is primed enough? Should I have oil coming all the way up to the rockers or even in the oil pressure hose? When do I quit?

30 seconds will fill everything except the rocker shafts , you have to rotate the cam the exact right position to feed up to the shafts , it is only fed every second turn of the crank & even then it has to be in the exact position to line up the 2 holes

I put a temp oil gauge on the block.
I rotated my crank 30 degrees, got oil pressure
up to around 60 I think, with the variable speed drill,
held pressure for a minute, then rotated crank another
30 degrees, and repeated process, untill crank rotated 360 degrees.
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

I recently read on the Internet How one person recommended To fill the oil shafts with oil and gob grease to hold in there Until the engine fires.
