A Couple of Questions on Cuda Parts
« on: September 23, 2013 - 09:04:50 PM »
I am in the process of taking apart the front clip off my Cuda.  From what I can tell the car had been in a front end collision many years ago and whoever did the repair job cut some serious corners. They basically tried to bend everything back enough to make it fit and then throw a coat of paint on it. Now that I am working on getting the body work and paint done it is time to address this wrong and replace all the bent sheet metal and parts (they are not worth trying to fix)

So here are my two questions:

-Is the hood latch support the same for a Cuda and Challenger?  Mine is bent up and needs to be replaced and there happens to be a hood latch support for a challenger near me on Craigslist that the guys wants to sell for a good price.
-Are the front bumper brackets the same for a 70 Cuda as for a 72-74 Cuda?  The same guy has what he is listing as 72-74 Cuda bumper brackets.

I'm just trying to figure out if I can use these used parts and save some money.  If not, I will go and buy new replacement parts.

-Thanks

No, and no....

1972 Front bumper brackets would be the same HOWEVER they are not the same as 73-74...Sound like the guy doesn't know what he has. Most people remove and get rid of 73-74 brackets.
AMD makes real nice reproductions.

The hood latch support may be the same depending on which part of it you're talking about and which years we're dealing with.

I think the top latch plate is the same for all years of Cudas and 70-71 Challengers.
I could be wrong, but I think the 72-74 Challengers use a different one, yet only slight differences... :clueless:
