Tach and clock needs rebuilt. What's the best place?
« on: September 25, 2013 - 09:30:59 AM »
Hi everyone...

My tachometer is far from acurate and my clock doesn't work at all.  I would like to send those for rebuilt next winter. Is there a place that rebuilts tachometer, so they could be accurate? Year One and classic industries sells new ones. Is it better to install a new one or to have mine rebuilt?  I heard that new ones have a plastic background instead of metal? Of course, I would like to have the Quarzt movement on my clock. As far as my tachometer is concerned, I would like it to be as accurate as possible, but if it's 100 or 200 rpm away, I can live with that. Right now, it's like 1500 rpm away...  It's a rallye cluster from a 1971 Challenger

Thanks

Robert

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Whatever you do, do NOT, I repeat, NOT use Tachman.  By far the worst experience I've ever had!

Redline Gauge Works in CA. I love my gauges since they were rebuilt. Changed the amp. meter to volt meter also. All with white faces.

This is an old thread but is this still the same or have they improved???  My tach and clock also are out and I'm looking to get them repaired.  I just called them but now debating to go somewhere else.

Tell them you'll be paying by credit card and see what they say.

About 10 tears ago I rebuilt my rally clock. I bought the kit which is a quartz movement for about 35 bucks.  Easy install. I cant remember over time who I bought it from.
