Please take a look at this and tell me what you think. I installed an MSD ignition a few weeks ago and on their harness they had these slip connectors going onto lugs bolted to the coil. I knew it was a bad idea but went with it. So this morning my car died. Luckiily it was in my neighborhood with no traffic and not last night in the dark on the way home or somewhere dangerous.
So, is this simply a matter of a loose connection creating an arc and welding away the metal, or is there a more serious situation going on here?
I've since crimped, soldered, and shrink tubed on some proper connectors onto the wires and bolted them to the coil. Like the rest of the system.
Here is the picture. These were bolted to the coil and the one corroded away is the negative wire.
