Greeting gents. I have an issue. I have a 1973 'Cuda and and am in the middle of replacing the console shifter plate and shifter handle. Now the light that plugs into the shifter plate does not work. I checked the blub and it looks good. Just in case I got another blub to check it and it didn't work either. So now I'm gonna have to trace the wire, which I started to do. Now, I pulled on the wire and was able to pull about 8" of slack (through the opening in the carpeting for the shifter) before it got taught. But here is the issue. I appears that the wire is trailing back to the rear of vehicle instead of going toward the front or dash. So my question is does anyone know where this wire (its ORANGE) connects to the harness? I thought it should go forward to tie into the under dash harness. I'm trying to keep from removing both seats and carpet to find out what is going on. PO has done some other things that required repairing (cut wires to fender marker lights, etc) so I would like to know how its "supposed" to be tied into the harness. If it makes any difference, this is not a rallye dash.
Thanks for your time and info
