The pic of the seats were in my 68 charger...I sold the charger a few years ago....i bought a same set of seats to put in my challenger..just showing what they look like in a car..

I stripped the wood grain off my challenger console....painted it with sem trim black...if that's what you are talking about...

Your car is looking good, I thought by the time I got to the end of the thread it would be finished.  Like someone else said the burnt orange looks like rootbeer once it gets old and faded. Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Sooo how do you know your 14 year old is into cars??  You show him how to do some basic body work on his 69 dart fender and he's out sanding on it at 1115 pm while his dad is in bed!

The car's coming along nicely! I see you had a firewall like mine. Amazing just how and where these cars rot, eh? It'll be a beauty when you're done!

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

MPDLAWDOG -- Nice work and project!  My T/A is actually a 72 318 Rally car... converted to a 70 T/A back in the late '70s.... grille, rear tail light panel, side marker lights (cut/grafted ~6"x10" panels), etc.    I did it solely for SCCA Solo II race class rules (at first for F/Stock class, and later I changed over the E/Street Prepared class where I have remained and highly competitive);  I originally bought the car as a daily driver while in college (mid-'70s), but quickly discovered and got hooked on the autocross racing.. and made my intention to become serious with the sport.. with the Challenger (Mopar or No Car!)... and realized that it HAD to become a T/A to be nationally competitive... which I did (my best friend is a master body shop worker/painter - he helped me tremendously... and he's a Mopar guy!   There's lots of Shelbys, Z28, etc which are not actually factory cars.. just clones.... and... WE keep up their images and reputations of their heritage .. while the originals stay under cover and not driven or raced, etc.   Driving/racing the cars is so much more fun!!! instead of just sitting and showing.

You probably know that the Hotchkis T/A is not a factory T/A... they just added the T/A hood, spoilers and stripes/decals (was a 318 car?)... I applaud them for campaigning the car... and truly racing it!

Autocross/road racers go in deeper... and come out harder!

See  MOPAR ACTION MAGAZINE, AUGUST 2006 ISSUE for featured article and details on my autocross T/A.

Nice work, coming along well. BTW the Hotchkiss car is running a single 4BBL, at least it was when I saw it a few years ago at the MATS. That said, the 6 pack is much nicer.

Mitch - nice car, love the look and effort. I really want to get into auto X locally.
