1973 Challenger 340
« on: September 29, 2013 - 01:40:58 AM »
Howdy! I am new to cars in general. I've always wanted an older muscle car. I know you cant tell much by pictures, but can I get some help from someone to look at this website with the pictures and figure out if this car is worth what is being asked for? http://www.streetsideclassics.com/showcar.php/cha/2215/1973-Dodge-Challenger

Also another silly question. I can remove the 340 and put a bigger engine in this with not to much problem right?

Thanks!

Does not look like a very good restoration, from paint job to the underside. Back seat is wrong and does not match the front.

Bigger engine does not necessary mean physically bigger, ie Mopar 440 Super Commando.

Not worth what they are asking and then you have the added expense of swapping to big block which requires a different trans, radiator, headers and lots more. You can find a better car for less money with a big block already installed and you`d be much better off.

Streetside Classics, the seller, has an Atlanta showroom as well. I've been there a few times and most of the cars are pretty nice driver quality cars. They may not be perfect, free of dust, or VIN correct, but most folks won't know the difference.

The price seems a little high, but you may be able to get that down a little.
