pistol grip shifter
« on: September 30, 2013 - 06:27:13 AM »
I have a hurst slip in style pistol grip shifter number 7220. For e body and early b body. Nice condition. I bought this off craigs list thinking it would fit my 73 AMX,  The shifter hits the dash before you can get it into 1 st. gear it would have to be curved rearward more to work for me.  A 71 b body bench seat  slip in style looks like it can work.    Looking to trade for a 71 b body bench seat  7178, 7179, 7180.  Pictures of my shifter I will send if interested.

here is the actual  shifter:      http://nh.craigslist.org/pts/4082883743.html[/url

I'll put this over on Ebay/Craigs list deals in case it violates a forum policy.

Unfortunately that's a 71-74 . I need a 70 which is a little harder to find.

70 shifter has a round shaft and a round"wooden" ball instead of the black "t" handle.
My 70 shifter has a "pistol grip made for automatics

Yes 70 is a round knob with the button on top. 71-74 is the cheesy T handle. I was thinking about doing one of the pistol grip repro ones like brotow but am still undecided.
