when i did my interior in my '72 i did the whole process and not just sprayed it black.
first i washed the panels with dish soap and water
next i washed them with the SEM soap
then i cleaned them with the SEM prep
next i used the adhesion promoter 2 coats
before the second coat dried, i dusted on the black
then i put on 3 coats of black and the panels came out looking new.
this stuff isn't real thick either so you don't lose the grain in the panels.
i did everything, door and qtr panels, seat backs, console, kick panels and all the seat belt covers.
