They did that also in the original Gone in 60 Seconds.  They put a '72 Challenger grill on a '71.

A '70 actually - an original U-code 440-4bbl R/T

There's a smashed '71 Gran Coupe later in the movie too

The picture of your car actually made me start this thread as I remember those hubcaps on Mike Brady's car.

From what I heard in the past, back in the day there was a place in California turned hard top cars into convertibles. The episode where he is backing up was the one where they were re-creating the accident they had in the station wagon. Not 100% sure, but that may be one of the cars that was converted. Do they show the front end of the car in that episode?

Very painful to watch.

Bobby should be grounded until he's 33 for that one....  :stomp:

Yep, he also had a mocked up '72 Challenger convertible if I'm not mistaken.

The Mannix car is the one I was thinking of. Must've had a brain fart

I'm kinda surprised that the Mod Squad car pictured above hasn't sold yet for $59,900....Even if you wanted a really clean 71 340 Challenger convertible, you couldn't restore one for that price :dunno: and think of all the attention that would come with a 72 convertible...
