1970 Challenger TA

Just want to get  a feeling of what you folks would think this is worth?  I am thinking of buying.  I'll include some photos too, this is what I know: 1970 Challenger T/A, 49,540 miles, original engine(runs), not original tranny but a 727, car has not been registered in 22 years.  All original  paint, radio, everything.

Tan interior.  That is an awesome car!

15K-40K depending. 
Not having more pics puts the price there for now.

What shape is the car in? 
More pics!! 

I'm sure some of the T/A guys will chime in with an accurate value.

The pictures aren't great but from what I see I'm guessing at least high $20's to low $30's unless the back half of the car is all rotted out.

Those are better pictures .. is it roadworthy? Or does it need brakes, bearings, fuel lines, hoses,Fuel tank, exhaust, tires....? I'm thinking low to mid $30's unless it needs major work.

Car is NOT rotted anywhere!  Car is in great original condition.  Door skins are off and on top of car.    Some more photos.....owner says.....1 of 7 in this color....

Tires are new:) as far as driveable?  It rolled forward and backwards in gear!  Did not take it out of garage.....everyhting is so clean underneath, I'm thinking brake lines and the such shouldn't need replacing.  But let's just assume it needs something....I know it needs a tune-up, the tranny fluid and engine oil were changed, gas drained, new power steering fluid.....wished I'd taken pictures on the lift....I can go back again....this is a big purchase I'm sure he won't mind.

Please indulge, what else would you look at?  I am going back to look at it tomorrow(Saturday).  I would love some more things to look for.  By the way I am looking to purchase this car, not sell.  It does still have at least one original muffler on it still!  Thank-you for all the replies, it helps!

To get that kind of money they would have to have a complete proper restoration and be in a much more desirable colour combination. This particular example does not even come close to those requirements.

It's very hard to tell anything from the pictures posted. Survivor cars (if this is actually one) are the hardest to put a value on because there is a very limited market for them.
I would "check to confirm" that is actually original paint, I'm guessing it's an older restoration that somebody is convinced that it's original. :2cents: Again, just my opinion based on the photos posted.

Even if 100% legit stock original, I still can't see it going for much more then $30K -$35K  :dunno:

Check the radiator support and cowl numbers to make sure they match the vin. Check and make sure it has torque boxes underneath. Take a good look at the frame rails and underside.

From the pictures the car looks like it is in very good shape and low mileage (assume it is real). Not sure if it is missing the SS trim or if there is a hole at the passenger side pillar. If this car's color is original and could it be one of a kind color combo that differentiate it from all the other high impact color TAs?

I personally would rate this as a very high price car only because it is in a rare colour combination of Tan on Tan, and if you can clean it up and see what is missing or damaged it could come under the class of survivor car. The fact that it is Tan on Tan and a low number colour combo would increase its value in my opinion, not everyone is after a high impact colour these days, and a lot of people are more after rare and collectable, and i think this comes under both catagories of rare and collectable. You should jum all over that and document the crap out of it to cross reference it with everything, it is all in the details and you need to check everything, go as far as to check the back side of plastics to see if they have been colour dyed or not, Tan is a very very hard colour plastic to come by... Good luck and keep us posted, see if you can get more pictures to share too please.
