1971 cuda fender mounted turn signal indicators
« on: October 16, 2013 - 11:16:09 AM »
hey all,

trying to finish all body work before paint and winter.
I have seen two type of fender indicators, some places list both styles for 70-74 and some only 71.
(I am to paint, so not chrome finish)
I see a light bezel that is long and slowly ramps up, from almost a point in the front,
the other have a blunt shape (look to have like a 45 degree at the front)

which one is correct for a 1971 cuda 340 shaker setup?

thanks all

The 1971 fender mounted signals came to a "point" at the front.
The 1970 ones had the "blunt" front and a "lip" by the amber lens
The '72 -'74 had screws on the top, those are easy to spot
Here's a pick of my 1970 ones.

My 72 Barracuda had the blunt ones in chrome. No screw on top. This was a factory install as I have the build sheet showing the light package ordered on the car (map light, steering column ,glove box, trunk light and fender turn signal light). A very basic 318, auto on the column car.  Has A/C and vinyl roof, Am radio that was it for options. No console, flat hood. Dog dish caps on the wheel. Maybe another case of the line using what was there.
