Mopar Slap Stik operation and light indicator changes

This a video I took today.  Shows the operation of the Slap Stik Shifter and the indicator color changes as you go through the gears.

1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Hey Phil, :wave:

The light stays the same colour buddy :2thumbs: Their is coloured plastic in stages underneath to signal a different colour for each gear, pretty trick as it looks like the bulb itself flickers to a different colour :grinyes:

Cool, thanks for posting. Mine is a 74. The gear indicator plate doesn't say SlapStik but it is . Is my plate original? And I have no light at all. I'll have to invetigate that.

Hi Ken!  :)

So that's how they do it.  I know they used only the one bulb.  Brain half dead, didn't know how to word it.  Just wanted to show the color changes as I remember talking about this before and some didn't know there were different colors.

Leds would be a cool way to do it though as Chryco mentioned...  :grinyes:

Blown motor, I did hear that some did not say Slap Stik on the bezel, not sure why though.  It should have a  light.  Sometimes the bulb goes out or falls out of place so I hear.

Thay all had lights so it either fell out, or burned out, or it was not originally a floor shift car and the guy doing the conversion didn't run a wire for a light.  :2cents:

It's a rallye so I doubt it had a column shift.

Hey Phil, thanks for the video.  I never paid attention to that, but subconsciously, I think I realized it.
