upgrade oil pan
« on: October 17, 2013 - 10:10:16 PM »
Well starting to line up my winter projects and I would like to go larger on the oil pan. I have a 440 with a 5 qt. pan and would like to add a couple more qts. and still keep good ground clearance. What do you guys recomend and can it and the pick-up be changed in the car?

Thanks, Jack

I'm using a Milodon road race pan for a big block. Works great for me!  :2thumbs:

Would there be any issues with a longer pittman and idler arms? I know I can pull the pan off in the car but what about the pick-up?

No issues with the T/A arms, mine has them. Not sure about the pick up? I would guess you could as it just screws in?

Did the dipstick interfere with the internal baffels?

I used the Milodon dipstick and the way I have it mounted I do have to fiddle with it to get it to go in.
