Does anyone have anything bad to say about the injection moulded door panels from Year One?

YES...Make sure they are the new Metro panels and not Palco's.

I would contact Dave at Roseville for the best interior panels available. :2cents:

Thanks Alan! I've found YearOne to be very helpful so far and I often use their 30-40% off promo codes discounts but perhaps I will get the interior stuff from Roseville based on your recommendation.

I like YearOne's 30% sales too....Call them up and ask who the manufacture of their is....Worth a shot.....then you'll find the panels are "discount exempt".. :smilielol:

:iagree: I sent back the first set I got because the quality was so bad. Then I got the metro panels from Roseville and they were fantastic. Very happy with them.

I know the shell is not up to the same level of quality as most of the cars I've seen on here. It was patched up all over back in 1987 and it stood up well. My main goal was to get rid of any rust which there was very little of.

New door skins, lower quarters, hood and fenders. Originally FE5, then previous owner turned it into FC7, now I'm making it 1970 B5

It will have all new trim as well.

I'm not that brave  :smilielol:

Dropped off the new wheels this morning and found the car to be 90% assembled!

Some other minor surprises:

Rear tail stripe is done. I asked for it to be done in glossy black but they did it in satin black... I think it works better this way anyways as the lip spoiler is satin black and the hood decal is satin black as well.

Oh ya, that hood decal from YearOne when it was unrolled it was stuck together so it was damaged. Probably old decals sitting on the shelf too long. So I should go back to YearOne and complain I guess.

The shop guys decided to just paint the area instead (no pics)

Also they have to bring in some windshield guys to take out the windshield as the molding clips were screwed in under the windshield and they look to be the wrong clips. I noticed the molding had sit kinda high and there were patch jobs done in the area under the windshield in the past. Possibly from this molding not sitting right and water getting in there.

I was happy to hear one guy mention something about the low rear end. No one else seemed to notice it before except me and this other guy. I said I wanted little to no wheel tuck. Kinda like the way the T/A version sits. He said no problem, he'll remove the leafs and bend/compress them with some machine they have. No more than 2" up.
