    My -70 GC back home

    Yesterday the tow truck guy delivered my car back home from the body shop. I had a "slight" delay of 3 months but with the end result on hand, i am very happy. The car spent less than a year at the shop and that is not bad considering all the steel works that has been done.

    I love this color. My local paint store could not mix up the -70 Plum Crazy so this is for 2010 Charger / Challenger. Correct me if i am wrong but i have a feeling that the modern version is more rich (more purple, more metalic). Whatever, the paint really "explodes" in direct sunlight.

    That is friggin AWESOME :ylsuper: and i love you have painted out the rear panel to turn it back in to an original Gran Coupe, good for you :clapping: :2thumbs: it really does look amazing, you are right about the colour, it has a different flip to it all together from original Plum Crazy. But it does not take away from the car at all and it looks great, look forward to seeing more and more bolted on as time goes by. Did you do the rear panel in the heavy astrotone silver ? Do you have a close up of that please............. :bigshades: :wave:

    Walking into a paint store here with 1970 paint numbers, the response is "say what, no...".
    So the panel is painted in a general Dupont silver metallic, slightly richer / heavier  than the original i guess.  I will post a pic later on.

    When those rear panels are painted out correctly, they look sooo cool.
    Can not wait to see yours, the original paint is a rough texture feel to it and not a smooth glossy feel. I think yours may have been painted gloss, but it still looks awesome :drool:

    Most of the FC7 mixes I have seen are too light / pale & dull , I mixed my own color & when I stripped the car there was original paint under the master cylinder dead on match , much darker & just has a rich color to it , yours looks good on the computer but I have found even with a great camera in good light the camera distorts the real color

    Your GC looks great!!  I love the Argent tail panel, it really pops against the Plum Crazy!  I couldn't get a part number on the clips. The vendor did not come to the show this year.  i will still keep looking for you.

    I am pretty sure that the one are the same as i purchased.  Let me know if you need any advise on cutting them down.  just remember, you can alway take a little off, but you can't add it back!

    Making some progress.

    I admire you guys who make these 100% originals restos but my car will not be done that way. Lacking original engine / trans and other bits and pieces, that idea is kind of lost anyway.
    So, the engine has the wrong color, i know. But orange and Plum Crazy makes a sweet combination.

     :wow: Man i am loving your whole colour combination, the White vinyl roof has just lifted your car enormously my friend, do not worry about 100 point correct, you have got the look going on and it is going to be an incredible looking car when finished, i really really do love it and that it is a Gran Coupe just makes it that much even better :drool: :clapping: :bananasmi :bigsmile: :2thumbs: :wow:
