Awesome , congrats on the new job  :2thumbs:

Thanks!  Like I said....big load off my mind.  I know that even this job could go away any day.  But feel much more "secure", even after just a week.  Being unemployed a while is humbling and does make you look at things differently, I will tell you that!

Looking forward to the show and seeing folks!

Not sure how I will squeeze my usual parts-scrounging into one day...I guess I will have to walk/browse faster....LOL

Have never been to calisle before and going to try to go this time.  If I can swing the trip it will be a seat of the pants affair.  Show up early early Saturday and spend the day. I assume buying tickets at the gate is no issue.  and is their a certain parking area for the mopars or is it just wide open parking?  Will probably car sleep the night away if that's possible on the grounds. And come back home late sunday.  Will they let you snooze in your car on the grounds?  And where will I find the CC tent?  Any insights for a newb to carlisle would be appreciated.

Planning on registering at the gate on Saturday for the show field.  Anyone ever have trouble doing that?

Since they started the register by mail thing 2 years ago, there is no longer a massive line at the registration lot outside gate #3. You'll be fine.

Buying tickets at the gate is no problem. Do you have a Mopar that you will be driving into the showfield? Parking outside the fairgrounds is a first come, first served type of thing. They have parking lots on the fairgrounds that fill up fast, but there is plenty of other parking lots on the streets outside the fairgrounds. I can't really comment on if you can sleep in your car in a lot outside the fairgrounds or not.   :dunno:

The tent will be easy to find. It will be among the E-bodys, and we'll have club banners on it. It should be one of the larger tents you see.

If you're driving a Mopar you can register it for the show and drive in and you'll HAVE to park in your class. There is no general parking inside the show. The show fields are open to participants 24hrs with plenty of security on thre grounds and you're allowed to stay with your car or leave it over night. Personally I don't think they would have an issue with anybody sleeping in their car and there are plenty of showers on the grounds to freshen up and of course plenty of places to eat a good breakfast. A LOT of the vendors sleep in their spots.

Carlisle is the BEST car show in the World :2thumbs:

The days are counting down. Can't wait to hang out with you guys.

I'll try not to be in the swap meet looking for junk the whole weekend. ( the wife says that I could have a hoarding problem with car SH!T)
Funny thing is that I seem to not need anything, but buy stuff anyway.

I'm looking forward to this also.  This will be my first year going.  I'll be staying with a cousin who lives about an hour away.  We will be getting in kind of late on Thursday.(we're flying in)  I'm not sure how early we will be there on Friday.  It sounds like parking might be a little challenging.  My wife should have her phone with internet access so make sure to post where you are parked on the grounds.

On Friday you want to be there early as possible....7am is not out of the question. At that time parking outside the gates will not be a problem, but the main reason is to beat the heat....get most of your walking done early then sit in the CC.com tent when the afternoon heat hits....The show is extremely well organized, finding others will be as simple as finding the row of E Bodies....from there, they are broken down by year and stock/modified. The CC.com tent will be in that area.

He's a little geographically challenged but yes I'm sure there will be some challengers there.

this comment about being early and beating the heat is 100% the way to go.
