    Vanishing point project nearing completion

    Started engine. Now to take tranny to shop for kit and freshen. Try to put engine in my 70 Challenger this week. Will clean things up and re-plumb carb. springs and all engine goodies. Little video of engine running on the floor. :)

    A little more about car. I removed all doors windows fenders under front end dash all components. Cleaned etc. All metal is original except left trunk gutter.
    Engine is model correct 383 0.30 over, 10.50:1  [1968 charger]. Which those #'s were used thru 1971.  Heads 1970 open chambered "346" cast. Oversized valve stem. Cam is Comp : 557 lift /326 duration. I know, whew. ;) wont last hehe. Gonna use "split bench" seat. Hole has never been cut inside car. Column shift.
     Challenger came new as a "baby t/a clone South Carolina. What I mean is affordable color /wheel package scheme. B3 blue ext. b5 blue interior Black vinyl top 15" rallye's. 1 Of the most sought after T/A combo's. As seen on 'American Icon: Muscle Cars'. This car was a JH23GOBxxxxxx car though :(. But I went with Movie theme. [Big block driver guy.] LOL

    Windows rolled down, airing out car. Added inner fender 'window seals' , lower frame plastic splash shields. ran brake lines and mounted bigger proportioning vale to lower frame for the 76 Cordoba 11" conversion I did on car about 1yr. ago. :) Big ole disc. LOL

    Dropped 383 in car.   Added Frame rail connectors.   Sized up and installing 'B-body' front sway bar.  Cut 8.75 "[71 b-body] rear housing 1 1/2" from each end and moved saddles outward 1" each side. Putting 3.23 gears with locker in housing.  Using 68-70 b-body 29" axles..   Had professional welder com to garage and 'stick weld'  rear back together.
     [Getting behind on my schedule, Maybe more next 2 weeks]  LOL

     The  plates I am installing with u-bolts will  move the lower end of the shock absorbers inward 2 inches. :) I believe they came off a 78-79 Cherokee.

     I have been slow this winter.  :working:  Sizeing up rear sway bar [pain]. Cutting driveshaft.
      Upholstering the bench seat. Installed 727 trans. Altered the linkage for column shift. Checked all wiring and lights. Even the door buzzer works good. :)
     This is not a Show quality build. But I have used original bolts, seats. panels etc.
       I have altered rear-end length, sway bar, front disc brakes. If somewhere down the line some one wanted total orignal restore it would be just a few minor changes. Upgrade were for driving performance and saftey. I am hoping in a week or 2 I will drive car and get bugs out. Then back to paint shop for finising. EW1 Alpine White base/clear..
     I really appreciate all you guys for help along the way.

    Started Engine in car. Taking radiator back out and replacing and cleaning. Lots of correcting ie: ground wire placement, Plug wires and hold downs, Coil and bracket, etc. Tightening and tidying up.


    Pictures about 2 years ago of 66 Sport Fury I sold at Pigeon Forge Tenn. 'Rod Run' Fall event.

    My 68 GTX had the 'buddy seat' like yours, but with adjustable head rests.  I thought it was nice.  Cant wait to see the fresh Alpine White!!!
