New guy here with an A93 '71 Challenger
« on: October 29, 2013 - 01:15:28 AM »
Just dropping in to say Hi.  I've been into Chargers for the last 15 years and after a turn of events led me to sell my recently acquired '68 project car for an offer I couldn't refuse, I was finally able to dive into an E-body.  I picked this one up locally, CA car from day one, last registered in 1990, still has the original blue plates and is now in my name on a non-op until mid-November.  I bought it non-running, trans condition unknown, dead electrical system and trashed fuel system, leaking tank and all, and no brakes.  For a total investment of about $300 it now runs perfect, shifts normally, stops quickly and has a new Spectra Premium tank.  I'm leaving the body and paint alone for now and starting from the inside out as a driving project.  Yes, it will stay a slant 6.

The red '67 shown below I've had since 1998 and have taken it from a wreck to what you see here....  Numbers matching 440 car, stroked to 496 putting out 647HP/687lb.ft. on pump gas.

 Very cool car, Gb2 is a pretty rare colour to come by on a car, and does look absolutely beautiful freshly painted, I love the fact you are leaving it all original and it is a Blue on Blue car. WELCOME to the site. :2thumbs:

Welcome, 67charger!

That Challenger will make a cool cruiser with the slant 6 in it!  I often think about the simplicity and fuel savings of a slant six car from the 70's/60's.

I love your plate in the '67!

I was asking 9 or offers ( Probably would have taken anything over 8).  Frankly, I don't need or even want to sell it, but if it went at that price, I would have made enough on it to be worth it.  I was really there selling off all my '68 Charger parts since F&F 7 bought my car.  I actually ran into the buyer ar Fall Fling.  He was looking for 2 more Chargers and a 'cuda for "Hero" cars.  All that aside, I figured I'd sell the parts and put the cah into parts for the Challenger, or if it sold, put ALL the money into buying either another '68 Charger or '70 Challenger.

I like this little car.  It is the antithesis to my '67 Charger.

sweet car  :2thumbs:   I love the patina on it.  Sure would look great with new shiny paint, but I would throw in a new interior ,do all tech stuff and drive it as is

Absolutely my plan.

1) Brakes (done),
2) Engine (close enough),
3) Electrical (ongoing)
4) Interior (up next),
-headliner first so I can sit upright in the car without it sitting on my head
-carpet to cover the holes in the floor (weld in homemade patches for a while)
     -seats arent bad
5) Rust repair (probably),
6) Paint (maybe)
