'70 Quarter Window Rear Channel Rubber Inserts?
« on: October 31, 2013 - 12:19:35 AM »
Need some help with this.  Bought and just received this from Roseville (Part # AS2001A).  It says it's for hardtops and convertibles.

I assumed it was for something else, but now I don't really know where it goes.  I have a '70 Challenger convertible.  Does it go in the convertible top frame (as a weatherstrip) to seal the rear of the quarter window when it's rolled up?  If so, it looks different than what is already there, and it's longer in length (possibly because hardtops required longer).  Can anyone help?  Thanks.

Someone on another forum site was able to help out with photos.  Apparently, Roseville is incorrect in their part description.

This is how their description reads:

Quarter Window Rear Channel Rubber inserts E-Body. PAIR. 21 inches long, flocked inside.
70 E-Body Quarter Window channel rubber strips-PAIR, hardtop and convert. this was a 1970 only, some 71 built cars do have the brackets on the outer wheel house but 71-4 did not use.

I checked my '70 Challenger convertible, and the brackets (#28 in the diagram) are NOT there.  Therefore, I don't believe these were ever used in convertibles.  The build date for my Challenger was 11/14/69.  I've attached photos courtesy of Jess T.

I don't think they are used on convertibles, but I've only worked on 71 convertibles. :dunno:
