Disc brake caliper brackets
« on: November 03, 2013 - 08:33:08 PM »
Have stock disc brakes on my -70. Got all parts new and fresh for a rebuild but i am lacking the pin style caliper brackets.
To my understanding, the pin style was used 70-72 and was then replaced with the floating type. Correct?

It kind of narrows down my internet search if the pin style was only used 2 years. Are there any other models that used the same type of brackets (earlier or later)?

The later style floating type brackets i can find but will they fit my stock -70 spindles?

I believe the pin type were always used on the E body same as the 8 3/4 diff carried through , on the B bodys I believe the pin type was used 71-72 & they changed to slider type in 73 , if you can get the 11.75 adapter I would use the larger rotor

Contact Dr Diff and get the larger 11.75 adapter, no reason to stick with smaller disc when you don't have to.

I have the stock diameter pin style brackets but shipping would be a killer?

Brad, my man!
I have a friend of mine in LA who acts like my broker for parts. If I could trouble you with checking the shipping cost to CA zip 91352?
If you are OK with that, maybe you PM me your costs.

Thanks!

Brad, got the brackets today.
We have a saying in Swedish that goes like "when you are waiting for something good, you never wait too long". Stupid thing, this was a looong wait.
Anyway, this was the last piece needed to get the front brakes completed.

Thanks, man!
