I was married for 10 years, owned the car for 20. During the bitter divorce, she tried to come after me for everything except the Challenger. I politely told her "a man left with nothing is a man with nothing to lose". During all the court battles, she never mentioned the car once.
Very similar to my divorce:
Her: "The Subaru is mine because my father paid for it."
Me: Keep it.
Her: The Jeep is mine because I put the down payment on it.
Me: Keep it.
Her: The Javelin is mine because you bought it for my birthday.
Me: Keep it.
Her: The Challenger is mine because I bought tires for it.
Me: They'll never find your body.
