To the OP:  If you have already bought and paid for the car please take a moment and let this sink in.  You have what appears to be a nicely restored Challenger and I hope you get the chance to get out and enjoy the car soon.  We all want to get a good deal and to feel like we have something special.....  I think you got both in that deal!  You could not buy a project Challenger and have someone build the Challenger you just bought for anywhere near the amount you paid.  So from that stand point I think you might have gotten a good deal.  And if this car does what so many of these cars have done for us, you will not be able to put a price on it.  Some of our best life long friends have come about from the cars we share an interest in.  You made the original post (IMO) because you were excited and wanted to share that excitement.  We're here to help, trade knowledge and share in the fun of owning these cars.  I'm excited for you to see and feel what we all feel each day as e-body enthusiast.  Welcome to the club.

Jason,

Thank you for taking the time to have your dad contact me.  I hope I was able to help you and your dad understand some of the finer points about your car.  Your dad seems like a super nice guy that has owned a lot of cool cars and has a true passion for cool cars.  Please check in with the board often and post more photos when you can.  It's not often you can own a mopar that stands out like yours does.  Every show you go to you're going to get a lot of people admiring your car and wanting to talk to you about.  It sounds like the car has a good home and it will be well enjoyed.  You have my number so feel free to call me if there is ever anything I can do for you guys.

:iagree: I was just thinking that same thing: I dig the paint. I would keep it just like that a drive the hell out of it.

So the VIN was faked or just the options? I am not sure what was changed....... I would have a huge problem with a title, etc. stating the fake info only to find out the true car was stolen or something..... can someone enlighten me?

It is an awesome looking car :wavingflag: i love the paint scheme, it is wicked.
That fact is that for a Challenger to be an R/T it has to start with the vinof JS, your starts with JH which means it is just a Challenger, the conflict is having JH with the V code which means 440 6 pack, 440 6 pack was never ever avaialble from anywhere as standard fitment from the factory in a JH car............. can you see why people are saying what theyare saying ?
All said and done, it looks tuff, and you should tear the wheels from it with some really wicked skids :ylsuper:

I feel that if it's as rare as the owner thinks it is, then it's very deserving of a 100 point OE Resto.

I think the car should be taken apart 100% and restored back to 100% stock original.

It would be a very interesting car and I'm sure once completed, every auto museum in the world would fight to have the only one known in existence on display.

Right now, I wouldn't even consider driving it because the extra miles will only hurt it's collectability value. :2cents:
