UPDATE: I have just started the engraving process. The engraver is very happy with the jig i made him, he said it will ease the process in the engraving, as the jig stays stationary while the handles have now got a quick release to have the convenience of flipping the handle over to have access for engraving both sides. Great time saver from job to job.
We did spend a few hours on the set up of the font and the format to how it was to lay on the handles, but i am very happy with the outcome. The next stage we tackled after the set up, was to pin point a starting position and then run the machine, total outcome was absolutely fantastic, these handles will look amazing when fully chromed. We still have to do a run of handles to work out the time for engraving, as it is its own entity separate from set up fee of course.
Next stage is for me to do the appropriate work i need to on the bottom side of the handles to make them work, then i can send them away to have them chrome plated. I am thinking i may prep 10 handles for the chroming process so i can see how the handle and the engraving finish looks like with the chrome in place, sort of like a test batch in a way, but i am confident we have nailed the depth and width if the engraving to cope with the chrome, time will tell.
Getting a lot closer now and i am extremely happy with the outcome, sorry for the lengthy delay, but i am feeling the wait will be worth it in the long run.
I will have these PERFECT before i have any available.
Thank you all for your interest and ongoing support.
