Hi Guys,

I thought i would share a rendering i did for a T-shirt design i conjured up and put down to paper, it was a quicky i did, and the handle is how i will be making every handle i make, each and every one will be engraved the same way. I was thinking if i do the T-shirts, i could offer the handle and console design in any standard Mopar colour combined with coloured Grip or a simulated wood grip with my cartoon grip. :droolingbounce:

Thanks,
HEMIKEN
Kenny.

Very nice. Even if I can't use the handle, I want the shirt

UPDATE :

Here is a sneak peak at the A-body, also fits B-body, also fits Aussie Valiant NEW handle i just finished to take to the profile down to get CAD coppied to add to the E-body line up. The E-body shifters will be scheduled to be released first as production is well ahead of the A&B-body shifters.

Not sure if I'm liking the A Body one as much. Seems to me in your above comparison photos that the handle would be awkwardly too far back when in drive or 1-2, and too high over all. Just my  :2cents: I don't even own an A body. :icon16:

Hi Alan,

I do have A-body Mopars here also and the shifter placement on an A-body or B-body is a real pain in the butt, you always have to reach too far forward to even activate them, they really are a bad position for a standard set up. I did make a handle first in cardboard at the same length as the standard bent tube shifter arm pictured and it did not take long to work out it would not be acceptable, so i kept lengthening it until it was comfortable and functional, the A&B-body guys will go crazy over these NEW shifter sticks, it will make driving and shifting gears so much nicer that it will be a big hit. :clapping:
I know what your saying and they do look long, but have a look at some of the B-body manual shifters and they are twice the length i have made these at, bench seat cars and the like.
Thanks for asking the question, if you get a chance, and know someone who has an A-body, have a sit in the seat and reach for the shifter, you will know exactly what i am talking about and how the standard units are just not long enough. :2thumbs:
I will put an entire assembly together and mount one in my buddy's 68 Dodge Charger with a console to show how they sit in each gear in a car.

Thanks,
HEMIKEN
Kenny.

Hey guys, for comparisson sake i thought i would show the differences in factory 4 speed shifter handles, the reason for such a long shifter to be used on A-body and B-body Mopar is because the shifter is mounted further forward on the gearbox and this same location is carried over in the mounting brackets on the Automatic shifter bracket comparing the A&B-body to the rear mount location of the E-body. :2thumbs: This is the reason for such a big difference between the two style of handles i have constructed, hope this helps :grinyes:
