Flex Plate

Can anybody tell me approx how much HP or torque a Small Block with a 727 trans standard flex plate would handle?
I know that they might work for a while but start to crack when they get abused too much but I have heard they will take a lot of punishment.
When I have been looking into which one to use there are many different types/styles and of course price ranges from around $15 up to hundreds of $$$, which brand, MP, B&M........     ?

The MP HP plate without the punch outs & the B&M solid plate are both good
