2 challenger 1970 fender tags---What do you think?
« on: November 15, 2013 - 11:30:10 PM »
I recently bought these 2 Challengers,

These are my first 2 muscle cars, im 26 and ive been looking for one of these cars and finally I found 2!!

-Would you try to restore to its original condition or would you make an R/T clone.

-I know not much 6 cyl challengers were made and I think that I will spend not the same but close amount of money to make a R/T clone

I do have the rally wheels and the rt hood so I was thinking about building first the JH23C0E with the hood and the wheels and make it a R/T

I need some guidance.

I would appreciate comments from you guys that have way more experience and opinions of what would you do with the cars.

Thank you!!!

First word of advice, never throw away those fender tags
even if you clone the car, keep the tags on !

Cool finds.  Would like to see more of the cars!

Clone the 6 cyl if you want, but the 340 is basically a R/T already.  In the challengers in 1970 the 340 cars were not badged as R/T performance cars like the JS cars, but the same engine code in a Barracuda was a Cuda.

You have a real A66 Performance optioned Challenger and those are really cool!

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

the first one has an interesting bumblebee stripe: V9K (burnt orange) on FK5 (dark burnt orange metallic).
Is there still some paint on the car? Photos?

Hey Culvers, i saw that too, V9K is a Go Mango Bumble Bee code on a 1970 Challenger buddy, it would be a knock out paint colour combo for sure  :2thumbs:

Welcome to the site!  My car is a JH23C0E car as well. I've enjoyed building the way I want.
Looks like you can have your cake and eat it too, build the 340 car to stock and the /6 have fun with it! :2thumbs:
I'm wondering if some day a /6 car will be almost as rare as a Hemi car as no one keeps them stock.

They are barn finds so they are not in good shape.

You can see the Go Mango Bumble Bee where it was underneath the rear trim.

These cars are a lot more solid looking than what i was expecting in fact, you did real good, i bet they would clean up real good and look to be pretty solid in fact. :2thumbs:

You have a Burnt Orange 340 car with an orange stripe....You know how rare that is, not to mention how cool ?

I would give up on the cloning R/T thing, sell the slant six car and give the 340 car the proper restoration it deserves !

Its a no brainer restore the 340 car back to original and do whatever you want with the 6 cylinder car.
