Just so you know James, Alan knows no other way to build a car. 100% correct or forget it!

He does it very well though...

Both cars are very cool, a 340 with nice/rare color combo and a FJ5 /6 car is also kinda different. If you want a performance car as most of us do restore the 340 car. The /6 car would be very unique and rare at shows as most are cloned with V8s but you are right, it costs just as much to restore and would be a nice cruiser but not much punch unless you highly modify the slant 6.

I think Alan is on the right track restore the 340 with the cool paint and sell the /6 to help fund a proper resto. I'd keep it original if most of the parts are there it could be done "affordably" I use that term loosely. I'd take my time and do it right the first time and if it takes six years who cares.

If you are not into the whole original thing sell the a66 340 and use that cash to build the /6 to whatever you want. I hate seeing good quality original cars get hacked apart.

Either way 2 good scores, enjoy the heck out of them , good luck on the resto!

Yes, thank you.....I meant no disrespect to the original poster...If he wants an R/T clone in the colour he wants with the options he dreams of, then build it from the /6 car and not the 340 car. The 340 is rare and cool and deserves to be put back to original. :2cents:

Perhaps you could sell the A66 car to Alan, he is always looking for fun cars to restore!  :poopoke: he needs projects!

ya, with two big projects, i'd concentrate on the A66 car and leave off the R/T badges.  Don't need em.

I'd sell the 6-cyl car and pour more money and time in the very cool 340 car.

Is the original drivetrain in the A66? Anything missing? Do you have a title? What does the underside look like?

Is the drivetrain there???

I sold pretty much the exact same car a couple years ago with the numbers matching engine & trans, fender tag and build sheet, no butt stripe, body was rust free, seats were redone already, engine was rebuilt and detailed and it came with many new parts. I struggled to get $9,000 for it. I would say this one w/o the drivetrain would bring around $6-7,000

The 340 car is a very cool combo. Never seen one like that before.
Keep us posted in a resto thread if you do decide to keep & restore it.

:2cents: Let Alan restore it for you.
