LOL.

Thanks.  I'll send him a PM.  I believe most of the heavy duty parts are wear items that would have to be replaced in a rebuild.

Terrys box is always full  . I was thinking about 4 pinion planetaries & 4 or 5 clutch pack drums etc which are not replaced .

Tod, these boxes are worth money as they are a better box to change in to an overdrive as a gearvendors fit on the back and are a shorter box when assembled this way. :2thumbs: And CP is right, they do have better internals in them to cope with the heavier wight they have to push around.

I'll look into it more.  I have a garage full of parts and a 71 convertible sitting outside.  I need to move the parts and get the car back in.  I have had these for sale for 3 years.  If I have to toss, I will, to get my car back into the garage.

Outside under a tarp gets you a $300 a day fine in the county where I live.  It didn't used to be that way until South Florida became valuable real estate and people got elected to make everything pretty, including what is in my back yard surrounded by a privacy fence. That is part if the issue with the vert.  It is considered an enviromental hazzard because it is outside and non-running.   If I licence and insure the car it is no longer an enviromental hazzard.  That alluminum tag must be real powerful.  Maybe I should sleep with one on my chest every night to prevent any illness.

I've been searching around on the internet about them.   It seems they have the same internals as a 727 behind a 440 motor.  A - body guys like the short shaft on them and are putting a slip yoke on the rear end and leaving the yoke on the transmission end.  Saturday I plan to put one beside a car 727 and compare for speedo cable etc.  There may be a way to make something of them.  I hate to toss them because the 727 is out of production.
If i lived closer i would come get them out of your hair buddy.............. :sadwavey:
If you were around here I would help you load them in your truck.  I'll bet it would be a killer shipping rate to get one to you.

It isn't about a bad apple.  It is about control.  They will even measure to see if your hedges are too tall, as in inches.

Hey Tod, How much would it cost in frieght to get to California do you think ?
You know that these boxes are identical to a car Big Block 727, you can swap out the rear extension housing and internal shafts from a small block box even, they all interchange between these 3 styles of Shorty Big Block, Standard Big Block and standard Small Block 727.
