    A good realtor should `ve checked the deed for you and would have known he was on it. She should have disclosed that information also, not sure if legally responsible but common sense and courtesy on her part would have been nice!  :villagers:

    Back the trailer up close to a wall if you can.  We have had a lot of trailers stolen from motel parking lots around here. 
    It seems that thieves know that trailers om motel parking lots are usually loaded with valuable possessions.....people moving in particular.

     The funds are probably sitting in escrow as well and charging interest. Most contracts have damage clauses and you should be protected. Time to send your agent to work.

    The situation is a little different than we initially thought, her ex husbands name is no longer on the house, the issue is he heard she was trying to buy another house so he filed for a lien saying she wasn't paying child support.  Because of that she lost the house she was trying to buy, and now he's refusing to sign paperwork releasing the lien until their scheduled court date.  She has all the necessary records to show she has been paying him so the court date will clear things up for us to continue, unfortunately that doesn't get us into the house before xmas

     :pullinghair: Wow that sure sucks! I would have guessed there would have been something in the contact to protect you? Can  you look/buy another house and get your money back?

    Yeah we could back out, but we really want this house, and we will close on it before the end of the year, just blows to be having Christmas for my kids in a little hotel room

    Your kids won't mind Xmas in a hotel room. They have their parents and that means more to them than where or what kind of house they are in. Sounds like you have a very close family and this will only bring you all closer. Good luck and have a Merry Xmas!!!

    Man am I ever sorry to hear this! 99.9% of Nebraskens aren't this way. It sounds like he wasn't trying to hurt you, but somehow "get at" his ex. I feel for you buddy! If I lived there, I would offer you my home to stay in. but your kids would probably spoil my dogs more than I do, lol. That would be fine with me. Good luck. Years from now, it might be the Christmas that every one appreciates and remembers the most. I know it don't sound like it now, though. You are a good guy, you will find some good in all of this.

    Thanks for all the support guys, special thanks to member "Stein" I'm meeting with him tomorrow, he's providing me a place to park my car where it will be safe until we get settled.  Also thanks to the member "the_engineers" for his offer to store my car also!
