Hold-down tabs
« on: November 25, 2013 - 04:25:08 PM »
On my rear axle there are a few thin metal hold-down tabs that are welded to the axle housing.  I have figured the ones (on the back side) that secure the metal brake lines, but there is also one on the front of the right side axle tube that I cannot figure what it is supposed to hold.  Can anyone tell me??

Also, does anyone have photos of the "correct" way those tabs wrap around the brake lines?

Thanks!

In 1970 the front tab held the passenger side E Brake cable, in the years to follow the tab was still there but not used.
