mini starter and TTI headers on 340

Guys, do I have to fit a mini starter when I change over to TTI Headers or can I use the standard factory starter please.

Either will fit , the mini can be removed through the header though

I'd use a small factory starter out of a Ram or Dakota.  The large 70's starters don't take header heat very well.

Depends what state you live in, there are several companies who bring in engines and accessories and sell them at reasonable prices.

I too live in Oz. I ship heaps of stuff through Graham Shiel in Adelaide. He ships containers regularly out of LA so if you aren't in a hurry for stuff (7-8 weeks) its a really cheap way to get parts over - especially bulky bits like body panels. If you find stuff on e-bay who won't to ship out of the US you can get it shipped to his depot in Compton CA.

I have shipped heaps of parts and none have gone 'missing'. You need to arrange freight from Adelaide to wherever you live.

Thanks AU6Pack, appreciate the advice and lead. I'll look into it as I need to get headers, and exhaust system, FirmFeel steering box and another 489 diff centre with suregrip and 3.55 gears.

There are some companies who ship from USA directly to Queensland, I am in Vic. that is why I asked where you were. I have shipment due here in less than 2 weeks and another lot being shipped hopefully at the end of this coming week but won't make it for Christmas. There is a couple of MOPAR suppliers based in Queensland, it may work out cheaper to buy direct from them for only a couple of items.
I pay AU$60.00 import fees and it depends upon size and weight of items as to how much the importer charges for the freight. If order is over AU$1,000 you will end up paying GST which actually works out at 12%, yes I know the GST is 10%, but..... The government is forcing down the value of AU$ so it pays to be careful how much you actually spend.

Appreciate the info. I work for a company that imports all of its product, we have a container a week leave LA, minimum. Do you think I could get stuff added,,, Nope!! its too much a pain in the rear end to manage unfortunatly.
So I'm left to try figure a way out, I'm not against using local guys for the odd part here and there, dont mind paying for the service however I do mind taking a hit in the ass for the service. Yes GST is payable on order of $1000 or more but if you can combine a lot of high dollar small items its worth crating an order and doing it. Anyway, I just have to do my sums and more importantly choose very wisely as if its not what you want, cant take it back and hard to sell down here, in some cases.

Again, appreciate the info and help, hope to catch up one day when I'm in Melb next

That's the pits about not being able to slip a starter in, it would be worth paying the GST.
Hemi Performance want AU$299, its a bit steep, PP&R have same for AU$225.
I am coming up to Ipswich at Christmas, have cousins either side, if I had known I could have slipped another starter in my current order from US as I have 2 brand new Mini Hi Torque starters which are spoken for but could have brought one up if it was going to be replaced. My order is right on the limit at the moment now unfortunately.

It really irks me when you buy a small part (like 3 gauges) and pay $150 US for shipping and it arrives in a box the size of a coffin, full of popcorn filler and you end up paying a fortune for a box - primarily full of air.

I reckon if you can source parts in the US, get free shipping internally in the US, keep it under $1000 where possible and send it in a container you will pay half or less of sourcing it here - if you can even get the parts in Aus.
