I can't reply here to this question as posed.
A better question, I could answer to, would be;
"just how TOOO-PID have you ever been" and, "how much alcohol did you consume prior"
Lucky to be alive, Luckier no-one else was hurt in the process.
Oh well, here goes, wasn't technically the "fastest", been faster on the track, but for sure the scariest !
Speedo said 135 or 140 ? in a '69 superbee goin down a "country" paved highway.
Friggin closed windows were flapping around real bad ! Thems were real "cheapy" cars ! Noise was drown'in out Foghat song "slow ride". (was the 70's)
Forgot about the railway tracks !
KA-WUMP !, hit the tracks, we was "airborne", "oooops" !, and at the same time, seems the traintracks knocked the "twisted together" fusible link for the electrical ! NADA, ZILCH, NOTHING, EVERYTHING went out ! 8 track, headlights(night), dashlights !
Now picture this, in an instant, which seemed like an eternity, you're airborne, going whatever speed, in complete Darkness and eerie silence, 'cept for that wind noise !
Ohh POOOO !
Finally, we re-contact the asphalt with a crash, the "twisted together" fusible link re-contacted, tunes, lights, etc., all came back, and I manged to stay "on the road" , albeit, with some difficulty, and LUCK !
That darn FOGHAT song "slow ride" got "OFFED" !
I/we slowed down a bit after that, "officially", we stopped for a "pee" break. Actually, we stopped to clean the crap 'outa our shorts.
Car steered a "bit funny" after, as one of the front upper control arm camber bolts had moved "in a bit".
Never know how lucky we were !
2 Weeks later, on a "Friday Nite", after hearing about our "escapade with the tracks", the "ASHMORE" brothers, more drunken local "yahoos", decide to try the same stunt.
For whatever reason, seems their Dads 1970 AMC Ambassador 4 dr., didn't quite make the "landing" as well or straight, which caused them to exit the road "stage left", over the ditch, into the farmers field at a "high rate of speed", whereby, it connected with the "in-approprietly" parked "Massey Fergussen Combine".
Now I ain't no "physics brainer", but we always wondered, "how hard", one has to connect, with a "Massey Fergussen Combine", with a " 70 Ambassador", to move, the prior stated "Combine", a full 60 ft in a Farmers field ??
Again, luckily the "ASHMORE" brothers survived, albeit, with crew-cut hairdo's the "OL'man" Ashmore decided to bestow upon the boys. This was the 70's, crew-cut hairdo's were akin to DY'IN in public !
Seems 'Ol man Ashmore, was just a "little pissed" with the "Massey Fergussen Combine" indemnity portion, of his Insurance Policy.
Tehehehe ! True Story !
Don't drink and Drive ! Especially around Combines !
FC out.
