6000 rpm in 4th with 255 65R-15's Bridgestone tires and 3.54 gears in a 1970 440-6 'Cuda. The speedo said 153 mph, and the car was still pulling hard. At about 130 mph, the whole car felt like it squated down a few inches and it looked like I was in a tunnel that was getting smaller with everything getting blurry except straight ahead. The faster it went, the smaller the "in focus" spot got. It reminded me of Star Wars when they made the jump to light speed. At the fastest part of the run, I passed by about 3-4 feet on the side of this big old Ford that was doing about 65-70 mph. When I did, the car sucked together with his for a spilt second as I passed next to him. The vaccum effect or something was super strong. It scared the hell out of me because I wasn't expecting it. The poor bastard in that car must have freaked. I was surprised by how weak the brakes felt at that speed. I'll never forget that ride!
